Marc Beyrouthy is an Agricultural Engineer with 2 PhDs.

Formal Advisor to the Minister of Environment in charge of biodiversity, eco-tourism, and sorting from source, he participated in developing several policy documents and in many high-level meetings and represented Lebanon many times abroad.

He is the CEO and Chairman of Nature by Marc Beyrouthy a company specialized in agricultural and environmental studies, landscaping and many more. Awarded as Switchers by the United Nations Environment Program, Mediterranean Action Plan, and Regional Activity Centre for Sustainable Consumption and Production (SCP/RAC), together with UNIDO, United Nations Industrial Development Organization and UNEP-DTIE United Nations Environment Program – Division of Technology, Industry and Economics.

Lecturer - Associate Professor - at the Faculty of Agricultural and Food Sciences - Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) where he occupied several positions: head of Agricultural Sciences Department, Assistant Dean for research and projects, Lab supervisor and Coordinator at the Analysis service. At USEK he is also co-founder of the USEK green committee executing many projects as USEK 0 Waste campus, elected number one green university in Lebanon by green metrics.

In addition to that, he has more than 1800 TV appearances in a daily popularized scientific TV show “Nature” at MTV – Lebanon since 2009. And more than 200 YouTube appearances on NoGarlicNoOnions Channels all related to agriculture.

Subject matter expert (botanist, ecologists, environmental impact assessment, strategic environmental assessment) for several UNDP and GEF sponsored projects, ministries in Lebanon and in the Middle East. In addition, he is the National Expert for Biodiversity responsible of Revision/Updating of the National Biodiversity Strategy and Action Plan (NBSAP), Preparation of 5th National Report to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) and Undertaking Clearing House Mechanism (CHM) Activities.

He holds several diplomas Diplôme d'Etudes Approfondies (Post-Graduate Diploma) in Agricultural Sciences and Biological Engineering from Gembloux Agricultural University (FSAGx) – Belgium
MA/PG Diploma - Learning and Teaching in Higher Education – From Chester University - UK
Ph.D. in Management Science from the Paul Cézanne University - Marseille III – France
PhD in Health and Life Sciences from the Law and Health University Lille II – France, Botany department, Specialty: Drugs Sciences (Pharmacy), Discipline: Bio-molecules, pharmacology and therapeutics, obtaining the highest grade «Highest Distinction with Praises of the Jury» (summa cum laude).

He has authored and coauthored more than 100 scientific publications and lectured in the fields of agriculture, biodiversity, medicinal plants, environment, ethnopharmacology, adulteration and authentication of plants and spices. He also haired and organized several international meetings and directed more than 7 PhD and 40 master thesis.

• Chosen by the Lebanese Presidential Palace to represent biodiversity and the environment in 2017 and patriotism through the Lebanese cedar in 2018 for school students independence event
• Selected by the EU in Lebanon to represent environmental education in the event Towards a Green Society in Lebanon
• Chosen to give a series of workshops for the Military Academy with the Lebanese Army: 1- how to live in an eco-friendly way 2- how to be a better eco citizen, 3- the Lebanese biodiversity, 4- Lebanese flora, 5- nature reserves, 6- how to use medicinal plants, 7- essential oils and more.
