Born in Zahle on December 3, 1966, Nicolas El-Osta, an enthusiastic former boy scout, started taking undergraduate courses in natural sciences at the Lebanese University. Following a special mention on LBCI talent show Nadi Al-Nawadi in 1987, he later graduated with a Gold Medal and a special mention from the jury of [renowned LBCI talent show] Studio Al-Fann in 1988. He also holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) since 1991.
On stage, Nicolas has starred in several religious plays, playing Jesus Christ in two of them. Having represented Lebanon in more than 20 festivals with the Lebanese Ministry of Tourism, he holds more than 60 awards in Lebanon and abroad. As a member of the board of the Syndicate of Professional Artists, he enjoys an excellent working relationship with most artists in the country and has worked with all-time greats, such as Zaki Nassif. Still, he has a predilection for collaborating with burgeoning poets and composers based on the theory, whereby the quality of one’s works ensures the performer’s success rather than the other way around.
Since the 1980s, his singing career has seen him singing, composing, and producing several hit singles and albums. Known for taking part in several religious recitals, his repertoire includes more than 40 hymns across 3 albums, in addition to `Id Al-Dini, a special Christmas album encompassing 8 hymns produced by his Melodia Production company, not to mention special songs dedicated to all mothers and fathers with lyrics written by Fr. Pr. Youssef Mouannes.
Nicolas has filmed several video clips and used his talent in support of several causes and institutions, such as the Al-Kafaat Foundation for children and adults with special needs, the National Diabetes Organization DIALEB, concerts and festivals in memory of Lebanese Army martyrs, etc. Always one to sing the praise of his hometown of Zahle, he has participated in several local festivals over the decades. His popularity among Lebanese expatriates worldwide has taken him on several world tours and festivals in the United States, Canada, Latin America, Europe, the Arab countries, and Africa.
Nicolas is married to Mirna Gergi Khalil with whom he has two daughters, Sara and Maria.
